NAIROBI CITY TOUR


ITINERARY

06h00: Pick-up from your hotel/Airport/pickup location in Nairobi and drive  for around 15minutes to the National park for early morning game drives.

The park is home to some of the 'Big Five' minus elephants. It is covered with lush grassland with a beautiful backdrop of Nairobi city. Acacia trees and bushes offer hide outs for the big cats including: lions, leopards, cheetahs. Other game found here is black rhino,  hyenas, buffaloes, giraffes and a variety of birds. Nairobi Animal orphanage is located inside the park, you can enjoy a close encounter with caged lions, leopards on a walking safari trail in the sanctuary.

10h30: Proceed to Daphne Sheldrick Animal Orphanage. (Strictly open between 11h00-12h00).

Born from one family’s passion for Kenya and its wilderness, the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is today the most successful orphan-elephant rescue and rehabilitation program in the world and one of the pioneering conservation organizations for wildlife and habitat protection in East Africa. Spend a few hours in the company of young orphan elephants and learn about incredible rescue efforts and the world famous rehabilitation program.

12h00: Drive to Tamambo Karen Blixen Museum for lunch.

The Carnivore Experience and Tamambo Karen Blixen Museum.

The Carnivore is considered ‘Africa's Greatest Eating Experience'. Every type of meat imaginable including a selection of exotic meat is roasted over charcoal and carved at your table. Delicious side dishes and an exceptional array of sauces complement this fixed price feast that also includes soup, a selection of desserts and Kenyan coffee. Set in attractive tropical gardens, the service and the décor are outstanding.

Tamambo Karen Blixen Museum for lunch
     
The Restaurant and Bar are  new under management by the Tamarind Group of restaurants that are famous for their Carnivore restaurant and the Tamarind Restaurants in Nairobi and Mombasa. The restaurant is the Tamambo Karen Blixen and is open for early breakfasts and reservations for late arrivals can be made.
The Restaurant is open for breakfast from 700hr daily and the kitchen remains open until 2200hr. (A light menu is available in the bar for late night snacks and a clay pizza oven is being built.) Diners have their choice of five areas for lunch or dinner. Residents can also enjoy dinner in their rooms or poolside

Notes:

For Nairobi National Park, we must use either 7-seater safari Minibus or 7-seater 4x4 land cruiser.
Only 15-seater bus and the sedan/Saloon cars are Air Conditioned. Safari vehicles (either 7-seater safari Minibus or 7-seater 4x4 land cruiser.) are not.


14h00: Proceed for the Giraffe Centre.

The Giraffe Centre is a Non-Profit making organization whose main objective is to provide conservation education for school children and the youth of Kenya. All our education programmes are offered to them free of charge. The Giraffe Centre derives 90% of its funds from the entrance fee collected and from the sales in the gift shop and teahouse. Therefore, by visiting us and/or making purchase from our shop and teahouse you have contributed towards conservation education to the Kenyan youth. While you are here, take time to visit our nature trail. All in making sure you enjoy nature.

17h00: Transferred back to your city Hotel.
