RHINO SAFARI


Day 01 : Nairobi
Met on arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi and transferred to a Nairobi Hotel for overnight stay. Meal Plan (Bed & Breakfast).

Day 02 : Nairobi - Aberdares
Depart early morning and head to Aberdares, enjoy scenes of lush tea and coffee estates through central Kenya. Check in at The Ark Lodge. The lodge is nestled in the foothills between Aberdares and Mount Kenya National Park, the lodge is famous for high perches and balconies, overlooking a salt lick and waterhole.  

Boasting a remarkable record of wildlife sightings from their floodlit waterhole's and salt licks, here we will enjoy the finest in high-altitude game viewing.
Overnight at The Ark Lodge.  Meal Plan  (Lunch & Dinner).

Day 03 : Aberdares - Shaba/Samburu Game Reserve
Depart early morning and head for Samburu National Reserve. Shaba/Samburu is fiercely beautiful with its arid Savannahs watered by the lovely Uaso Nyiro River. It is also one of Kenya’s most protected areas and home to species only found north of the equator, from the reticulated giraffe to Grevy’s zebras and Beisa onyxes. Arrive in time for lunch. Enjoy an afternoon game drive. The Park is blessed with species absent in the Southern Hemisphere like the liver red reticulated Giraffe, Long neck Gerenuk, Blue flanked Somali Ostrich and Vulturine Guinea Fowl. The Park also has Elephants, Leopards, African Buffalo, Cheetah and Lions.

Day 04 :   Shaba/Samburu Game Reserves
Dawn breaks in golden bands as we start our day in the bush by scanning the river from our lodge’s veranda with a cup of steaming coffee in hand. Before the dew is off the grass, we’re off in pursuit of the elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs that thrive in the reserve’s grasslands and acacia woodlands. And so the day is spent in alternating pursuits of exploration in the bush and relaxation in our cozy Lodge.
Overnight: At Shaba Lodge.  Meal Plan (Full Board).

Day 05 :  Shaba/Samburu - Nakuru
Depart early morning after breakfast and travel overland to Lake Nakuru National Park. You will arrive in time for lunch followed by afternoon game drive. The spectacular alkaline Lake is famously known as the feeding ground of both lesser and greater flamingos. This National Park, is a sanctuary for birds, Rothschild giraffes and both black and white-rhinos. Other mammals in abundance include Waterbucks, Buffalos, Gazelles, Lions, Baboons and the elusive Leopards sometimes seen sleeping on the horizontal branches of the “Fever trees”. Lunch will be served at one of the lodges located in the game park, offering its own local specialties, served with fresh produce from the region.

Day 06  :   Shaba/Samburu - Nakuru
An early morning game drive before breakfast to try to find leopard which are frequently sighted in Lake Nakuru Park and return to the lodge for breakfast.

After breakfast return for a game drive, this time in  search for both the white and black rhinos. Return to the lodge for lunch. The afternoon is at leisure, relaxing by the lodge swimming pool before an evening game drive in the park.

Day 07 :  Nakuru - Masai Mara
After breakfast, depart for Masai Mara Game Reserve. The Masai Mara is Kenya's finest and most outstanding wildlife sanctuary where gentle rolling grassland ensures animals are never out of sight. The climate is gentle, rarely too hot and well spread rainfall year round.

The sensation of the great wildebeest migration between July and October is unparalleled. You will enjoy viewing the wildlife as it roams freely in the Reserve.  If Keen you will notice the masai people herding their cattle in the park, thus confirming their peaceful coexistence with the wildlife.  After lunch, enjoy an afternoon and a late evening game drive. Enjoy game viewing especially the world famous big five: Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Rhino and Cape buffalo. 


Day 08 : Full Day Mara
Enjoy another adventure of game viewing in the reserve. You have an option for a hot air balloon ride which will give you a spectacular birds view of the wild game below. Balloon ride is an exciting giving you unforgateable experience. Game viewing is great from the air especially between the months of  July and November when we have the annual Wildebeests Migration.  The hereditary migration drives the wildebeests from Serengeti in Tanzania to Kenya in search for green pastures and water.

Day 09 :  Masai Mara - Nairobi
Depart for Nairobi after breakfast. You will be dropped in the city hotel for overnight stay. You can have an arranged lunch in a city restaurant. Meal Plan (Bed & Breakfast).
 
Day 10 :  Depart
After breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight back home
