KIFARU SAFARI-

Day 1 – Transfer from JKIA to House of waine hotel, BB
On this day we arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in the evening and our driver guide will be waiting for us for a transfer to House of waine forovernight stay.

Day 2 –Sheldrick, Giraffe Centre, Nairobi National Park
After breakfast at around 9:30am our driver /guide will be waiting to take us on a full day disposal exploring Nairobi’s main attractions. Starting off with the 11am Sheldrick visit, later on to the Giraffe center and the Karen Blixen Museum (entry fees and meals payable direct). After lunch we proceed to the Nairobi National Park for a short game drive before we retire on sunset back to our hotel.

Day 3 – Drive to Samburu
We start off from Nairobi early at 7.00am driving north of the capital city towards the Samburu Game Reserve with a lunch stop. We shall go past the majestic Mount Kenya before getting to Samburu. This afternoon we venture out for our first game drive which will proceed until sunset when we return for dinner and overnight at the Samburu Lodge.

Day 4 – Samburu game drives
We have breakfast before a full day at the Samburu National Reserve. In between the morning and evening game drives we may opt to visit a Samburu Village where we get an idea of the daily life of the local community. Samburu is rich in wildlife with the unique and rare Grevy zebras and reticulated giraffes sure to be spotted mingling with Somali ostriches, elephants, and buffaloes. Lunch, dinner, and overnight will again be the camp.

Day 5 - Drive to Solio
After breakfast we drive to Solio, a Rhino sanctuary. This day will be spent exploring the Solio Sanctuary, a private sanctuary that extends between the spurs of Aberdare Mountains and Mt. Kenya. This 25,000 hectare reserve became famous because of its unique success in the rearing of the White and Black Rhino. Lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes and zebras can also be spotted in large numbers. Dinner and overnight is booked at The Aberdare Country Club.

Day 6 - Drive to Nakuru
We take an early breakfast and start off the day’s adventures at 7.00 am with a drive to the Lake Nakuru National Park. Game drives here will reveal the abundant birds and wildlife. The flamingoes are the most prominent on the lake shores. Nakuru is also a Rhino Sanctuary with a population of over 100 white and black rhinos plus the fenced park hosts all the Big Five except Elephants. We shall enjoy a hot lunch at our camp. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru lodge.

Day 7 Drive to Mara
Today we drive on the Rift Valley floor to Narok, a colorful Maasai township before arriving at the Mara where we check at the Mara Ashnil Camp before lunch. After a short rest we embark on our first evening game drive in the vast game reserve, which was recently classified as the latest “Wonder of the World”. The Mara is an extension of the Serengeti in Tanzania and all the “Big Five” are found here. With some luck we may already see some of them today. We return to the Camp at sunset for dinner and overnight.

Day 8 – Mara game drives
We take early morning game drives before breakfast. Today we have an opportunity for optional balloon ride excursion (Excursion at extra costs and the excursion must be pre-booked). Further morning and afternoon game viewing drives will ensure that there is no dull moment in the Mara. Simply stated, the Maasai Mara is a one stop for game and scenery viewing.

Day 9 - Drive to Naivasha
After breakfast we check out and drive to Lake Naivasha with lunchboxes. On arrival we check into our rooms and have the evening opportunity to explore the lake shores at the comfort of our verandah. Among the resident birds are fish eagles, ospreys, lily-trotters, black crakes and a variety of herons. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the Lake Naivasha crescent camp.

Day 10 – Drive back to Nairobi
An early rise is perfect for a boat excursion on this lake which has a lot of hippos, which we can easily spot. After a hot lunch we drive to Nairobi ending a superb tour of the best of Kenya.
